What does an interior architect do?

Interior architects mainly focus on designing a space, specifically the inside of houses and buildings. They can do this for a specific room or for an entire building. This includes places like schools, libraries, offices, or hospitals. All aspects of an indoor space can be addressed: function, layout, spatial organization, furnishing, lighting, colour, and materials. Even if you want to renovate the interior of your own house, you can turn to an interior architect. An interior architect identifies your desires, presents ideas and alternatives, and then visualizes the wishes in design and construction drawings. In short, together with you, they work on a unique and effective design that can be realized within your budget.

An interior architect is knowledgeable in construction, knows what is technically feasible, has contacts with suppliers and contractors, is aware of laws and regulations, and is in most cases closely involved in the execution.
